Martha Splatterhead returns! The pioneering kings of Splatter Rock The Accüsed are back from the wrong side of the grave! Accüsed axe slinger and founding member Tommy Niemeyer has resurrected the unholy Splatterbeast with a new lineup that is an efficient killing machine!
Originally formed in 1981 near Seattle, Washington The Accüsed have released over 6 lps and several EPS over the last 28 years. Their debut album 'The Return of Martha Splatterhead' was the very first release on Earache Records (MOSH1) back in 1986. For their next album: 1987's 'More Fun Than an Open Casket Funeral' The Accüsed were picked up by Combat Records during the heyday of crossover. In the late eighties The Accüsed reigned supreme and were regarded as one of the most important groups of the punk and metal crossover explosion.
In the nineties the band left Combat and put out records on the local label Nastymix that was owned by Pop-Rap legend Sir MIx-a-Lot. Although the relationship of these two seemed odd the band never lost site of its vicious assault. Their 'Grinning Like and Undertaker' album on Nastymix is regarded as a classic and contains the same intensity and razor sharp riffs of the albums that came before it. During the early nineties guitarist Tommy Niemeyer became heavily involved with the grunge band Gruntruck and due to their popularity they became the main focus while The Accüsed went into stints of hibernation. Never dead The Accüsed sporadically played shows and even self released a studio album ('Oh Martha') in 2003.
Their innovative sound has propelled them into legendary status and they are name dropped as being very influential by the likes of Lamb of God/Randy Blythe, Brutal Truth, Pig Destroyer, Phil Anselmo, Municipal Waste and countless others.
The true Return of Martha Splatterhead is upon us! Over the last few years, surviving deaths, trends, and severe obstacles The Accüsed have returned to rightfully reclaim the Thrash Metal throne! The new album 'The Curse of Martha Splatterhead' contains even more face ripping riffs, more brutal throat shredding and more intenstinal morbid devourement than ever before. 14 songs clocking in at 29 min. FASTER, MORE VICIOUS, MORE BRUTAL than you can handle! Crushing production courtesy of Billy Anderson (Melvins, Neurosis, Eyehategod, Brutal Truth, Sleep etc.).
